Where in New Zealand may I work?

Anywhere in New Zealand

When may I work?

It is up to you when you would like to travel and depending on the season we recommend to start searching for a job before traveling. Note that if you are traveling during Christmas time we suggest to look for a job before you arrive to New Zealand. Summer months in New Zealend are from about November to February. Remember to register to the program at least 8 weeks before your program start date.

What will I get paid?

Participants average weekly earnings are NZ$300-400 per week.

Total Expenses to Consider

Your first paycheck will be way after your arrival to New Zealand so you should keep this in mind when calculating funds necesary to travel. You may estimate that you will need about US$2000 to pay for your food, accommodation, travel and other expenses during these initial weeks.

Upon your arrival you would stay at a hotel for several days and we arrange this. Once you find long-term accommodation, you will probably have to pay your first month’s rent in advance along with a security deposit (approx. NZ$600 in total). Once you have settled in, expect to pay NZ$150-200 per week for food and accommodation. With reasonable budgeting, you should be able to save enough to finance your travels.
