PAID WORK PROGRAM IN CANADA

The Work & Travel Canada offers you the opportunity to live and work in the most spectacular places of Canada including Toronto, Vancouver, the Rocky Mountains and Whistler. Depending on your experience, education, your language skills and your attitude you can choose a job in 3 different industries: Hospitality and Tourism, Sales and Retail and Construction and Labor.

Get to know the Canadian culture while enriching your resume. It is possible to accomplish the program from 6 up to 18 months! Jobs are available in the following areas:

  • Hospitality

  • Tourism

  • Restaurant

  • Retail Services

  • Construction

  • Labor

Placements Available and its Minimum Requirements

Back of house:

  • Housekeeping, Laundry – Minimum Requirements: 16 week placement duration, experience preferred but not mandatory.

  • Houseman – Minimum Requirements: 1 year placement, 6 months relevant work experience.

Kitchen:

  • Dishwasher - Minimum Requirements: 20 week placement, experience preferred but not mandatory.

  • Line cook, Food preparation, - Minimum Requirements: 24 week placement, at least 6 months relevant work experience and/or apprenticeship.

  • Third Chef, Sous Chef – Minimum Requirements: 1 year placement, at least 3 years relevant work experience including apprenticeship.

  • Chef – minimum Requirements: 1 year placement, at least 5 years relevant work experience including apprenticeship.

Food and Beverage:

  • Junior Server, Busser, Banquet Server – Minimum Requirements: 20 week placement, 12 months relevant work experience and/or apprenticeship.

  • Server, Hostess - Minimum Requirements: 1 year placement, at least 2 years relevant work experience.

  • Fine Dining Server - Minimum Requirements: 1 year placement, at least 3 years relevant work experience.

Maintenance: General Maintenance, Grounds-people, general trades, Common Area Cleaner: Minimum Requirements: 24 week placement, at least 6 months – 1 year relevant work experience and/or apprenticeship.

Guest Services: Ticket Checker, Ticket Seller, Boot & equipment fitter, Lift Attendant (advanced skier/ snowboarder), Spa and Pool Attendant (Must have lifeguard training), Information Desk – Minimum Requirements: 20 week placement, must start at beginning of season, 2 years relevant or customer service experience, fluent French, German, Spanish, Mandarin, Japanese an asset.

Retail: Travel Sales, Phone Sales, ski/snowboard/mountain bike/ golf equipment rentals, golf store sales, Cahier – Minimum Requirements: 20 week placement, must start at beginning of season, 2 years relevant retail / sales experience, fluent French, German, Spanish, Mandarin, Japanese an asset.

Front of house: Reception, Front Desk Agent, Central Reservations, Night Audit –Minimum Requirements: 1 year placement, 2 years relevant hotel experience or European accredited hotel apprenticeship, fluent French, German, Spanish, Mandarin, Japanese an asset.

 

Where would I travel to?

During your stay you can arrange trips and excursions according to your convenience and schedules. Through your job you will have the possibility to get to know impressive and touristy places of Canada. You may suggest a location within Canada that you prefer but we cannot guarantee a job there. Please note that we will do our best to accommodate your request. Some of the main locations:

Vancouver: Known as one of the world’s most beautiful and vibrant cities, Vancouver is Canada’s third largest city with a population of over 2 million people. Friendliness, ambience, culture and site, lodging, restaurants and shopping are the best words that describe this fantastic city. Vancouver is also a dynamic, multicultural city set in a spectacular natural environment. There are countless indoor and outdoor activities to please every visitor to no end.

Toronto: Toronto is a clean, safe, cosmopolitan city with a wonderful network of parks, recreational, and cultural facilities. It is one of the world’s most ethnically diverse cities, home to more than 80 ethnic communities from Africa, Asia, and Europe. Besides, Toronto hosts over 30 film festivals a year, a number of international cultural events and neighborhood fairs. The city is also the home of four professional sports teams and the third largest English-speaking theater district in the world.

Whistler: Whistler is a resort town in Canada known around the world for its first-rate ski resort, mountain biking site, and year-round recreational center at Whistler-Blakcomb. Locals are higly committed to protecting the natural mountain environment since life develops around tourism; the Municipality is permanently enganged in developing arts exhibitions, performances, festivals and events to color the atmosphere of the village. Nowadays, the village is undergoing a millionaire redevelopment of the resort to duplicate its current services and keep on leading the way in ski resorts.
