APPLICATION PROCESS

What should I bring?

For a successful Volunteer experience you must be open-minded and ready to adapt to a competely different lifestyle. Bring your experience and knowledge to the table and be willing to undertake responsabilities in many areas. The important thing here is that you are willing to help with anything your host organization needs.

General Placement Requirements:
  • You must be 18 years old or older.

  • You must have finished high school

  • Your Spanish level should be at least high beginner (organizations might have their own language level requirement). Keep in mind that the higher Spanish level you have, the more responsabilities you are going to receive and the more successfull your volunteer experience is going to be. If you are unsure about your language level, through a phone interview we will assign you a level. If you don't have the Spanish required you will have to take Spanish classes until you reach the required level.

  • The minimum length of the volunteer placement is determined by the host organization.

  • For specific placements previous practical or theoretical knowledge may be required.

  • You must have accident and liability insurance. You may purchase your own or sign up to one through Mentor Abroad.
