 SPANISH COURSES IN URUGUAY

Uruguay lies along the Atlantic Ocean bordering Argentina and Brazil. It is one of the smallest countries of South America. Nevertheless the country has a lot to offer; a very interesting capital (Montevideo), delightful villages of the colonial age like Colonia de Sacramento and exclusive coastal towns like Punta del Este. In April, 2006 Montevideo was distinguished as the city of Latin America with the highest standards of living. Is there a better place to learn Spanish in South America?

We offer our students:

  • Combine destinations: you have the possibility to begin your Spanish course in Uruguay and to continue in another school in Argentina, Chile, Guatemala or Costa Rica.
  • Variety of courses: from regular group courses to private courses and especial Spanish courses (like Spanish & Tango, Spanish & Business, Spanish & Sport)
  • Minimum age: 18 years old for all Spanish courses.
  • Highest quality: our language courses are developed especially for foreign students, are held by highly-qualified teachers and provide successful cultural immersion.
  • Small number of students: between 3 to 6 students per Spanish class.
  • Six course levels: Spanish courses are divided into six levels of language, from Beginners to Advanced.
  • Certificate: issued at the end of the Spanish course stating the duration of the course, the level achieved and the number of Spanish lessons.
  • Best service: the Spanish school counts with modern facilities to make you feel comfortable: Internet connection, reception of faxes, coffee, tea and water, 24-hour-emergency telephone as well as kitchen use etc.
  • Extra services: accommodation, transfer service to and from the airport and complete insurance.

ACTIVITIES

Uruguay is a small country which offers much more than you may expect. You will find wonderful landscapes thanks to the low population density of Uruguay. It is the perfect place for nature lovers and for those who want to get to know the life of the Uruguayan Gauchos, their typical dishes and traditional parties. In the Atlantic Ocean you will encounter quiet colonial regions that offer a perfect get away from the hectic life of the capital. The carnival week, which takes place annually in February, attracts visitors from all over to see the carnival processions, music and dances. Montevideo is an assemblage of art and history with a lot of museums, theatres, exhibitions, shows, casinos and different events during the whole year.

CULTURE

The culture of Uruguay has many sharing characteristics with Argentina. Both countries have experienced a strong influence of Europe, mainly from Spain and Italy. The tradition of the Gauchos has been an important element which has strongly affected the art and folklore of both countries. At an intellectual level, Uruguay has given birth to a lot of important writers. As regards music, tango is very popular in Uruguay tough Candombe is the most traditional dance of the region.
