CHILE

Chile offers a fascinating variety of landscapes and cultures. The 4.500 km long country lies between the Pacific and the majestic Andes mountains. Long beaches, the juicy central valley with vineyards and the Atacama Desert belong to the group of treasures in north Chile. Going south you find unaffected wilderness with volcanoes, lakes, forests and fjords.

The Chilean people are a multicoloured mixture of European and Arab immigrants with the Mapuche and the Aymara indigenous groups.

SANTIAGO

Today Chile has one of the most dynamic economies of South America and very competitive universities. Santiago has developed into a busy metropolis and a major commercial centre with exciting nightlife and a lot of entertainment.

5 million people live in Santiago in the central valley, on the base of the Andes. The climate in this region is moderated: during summer daytime temperatures reach 28 to 30 ºC. At night it cools pleasantly.

One can undertake day trips in the high mountains or head to the beach or just stay in the picturesque Valparaíso. The cultural offer of Santiago is near from Buenos Aires the most varied in America.

THE SPANISH SCHOOL
