How does Mentor Abroad assure my safety abroad?
Mentor Abroad cares about you safety, that is why we have chosen one of the most renowned universities in
Cordoba to take your classes. Accommodations are also chosen following a strict criteria to make sure they meet safety regulations and provide conformable facilities.
Upon your arrival to Cordoba, you will have a welcome meeting where you will go over safety precautions, how to take transportation, local areas of town and more. An onsite coordinator will be assigned to you for anything you might need.
How will my progress be assessed?
Your progress will be measured as any other regular student attending the university; you will take the same exams and take the same lessons.
Can electives be changed once started?
Yes. After classes start, you have one week to decide if you want to change subjects or just keep the ones you had chosen.
Are there any other types of accommodations available besides Host Family?
We always advice our students to stay with a host family so as to get a deeper look into the culture. But you also have the option to stay at a residence to meet different students from abroad.
If you decide to stay in one of the residences in Cordoba, please let us know beforehand to check availability. Also keep in mind that prices are slightly different from accommodation to accommodation.
How far are the accommodations from the university?
You will always need to use public transport in order to reach the university campus since it is on the outskirts of the city. A bus ride from downtown to the university will take around 30 to 40 minutes. We will give you all the advice you need regarding public transport.
Is there daily transfer available to and from the university?
Yes. Three is a free shuttle service available at scheduled hours from downtown to the university. It is an exclusive bus for students from the Siglo XXI University.
What will be some of my immersion activities?
During your stay you will take part of extracurricular activities with other exchange students in Cordoba. They are held during the afternoon and they vary from week to week. They may include: city tours, barbecues, visits to museums and historical sights, night outings, tango dances, film evenings, horse riding in the countryside and many more.
Which are the main students’ nationalities at the university?
Around 95% of the students are form Argentina; while the other 5% is made up of students coming form different Latin America countries like Colombia and Guatemala.
What are the GPA requirements?
In general terms you need to have a good academic standing with a minimum of 2.75 GPA
May I arrive one day before or after?
Yes. You may arrive earlier o later than the scheduled start date providing you tell us beforehand and there is accommodation availability. You will only be charged with the cost of the extra nights.
Can I apply if I don’t have a passport yet?
Yes. You can apply for the program and later on send in your passport number. Getting this documentation can take a long time so make sure to plan properly.
Do I have to pay for the whole semester at once?
Yes. The entire program fee needs to be paid 4 weeks before your program start date.
